DOCENT HIGHLIGHT: MARCH 2016

Mar

21

This month in the Museum’s Docent Highlight, we celebrate Ellen Sherline. She has been volunteering at the Museum for many years and we are so appreciative of her dedication to the institution. Thank you Ellen for all you do to further the Museum’s mission of “engaging and inspiring through the arts, gardens, and education.”

Meet Ellen Sherline:
“I’m a retired interior designer and have lived in Jacksonville for the past 25 years. I was introduced to the docent corps thirteen or fourteen years ago (can’t remember which) by Olga Wind,  a Cummer Museum docent at the time. I love art and visiting museums wherever we go and being a docent is, in some ways, a continuation of my career. My favorite part of being a docent is being with the really little kids.  They come out with some real doozies sometimes! When I’m not at the Museum, I enjoy traveling with my husband Jay, reading, and spending time with family and friends.”
