DOCENT HIGHLIGHT: PAT CHIARELLI

Jul

Pat as Eliza Doolittle.

Pat as Eliza Doolittle

We love celebrating our Docent Corps and all of their hard work at the Museum. Meet Pat Chiarelli, another member of the Corps who dedicates countless hours at the Museum to further the mission of “Engaging and Inspiring through Arts, Gardens, and Education.” In Pat’s words:

The arts have always been a part of my life whether I was going to a Broadway show, a museum, or teaching my students. When I moved to St. Marys, Georgia, the Cummer Museum became my favorite place to be. When my full-time education job ended, my docent training began. Maybe it has been seven or eight years; I stopped counting. I love listening to the children’s reactions to the art and how much the love the Gardens. I see something new through their eyes. During the time I am not a Docent, acting and singing are my passions, when I am lucky enough to get a part in a play or just sing at church. I continue to be amazed at every new gallery that opens. And I have to thank Mary Beth for being so considerate of us docents; she is amazing – always a bright light!
