La Florida: Crocodile
One of the earliest known depictions of Florida in art was this print by Theodor de Bry from a drawing by Jacques Le Moyne de Morgues. Le Moyne was part of a French Huguenot expedition in 1564 that landed at the mouth of the St. John’s River and welcomed by the Timucuan people, who lived there.
