FOCUS Cummer presents Adventures in Art Lecture Series

By Gerry Bialka, FOCUS Cummer

Adventures in Art lecture series at the Ponte Vedra Library is a monthly event organized and sponsored by FOCUS Cummer and the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Library. In the past, the series has featured speakers from various museums, universities, and galleries, as well as artists and other experts.

This year begins October 18 at 2 pm with artist Joyce Gabiou. She has been featured in American Artist magazine and maintains a studio at 111 Gallery downtown. Joyce Gabiou will lead a one hour hands-on workshop in collage. Non-artists are welcome and supplies will be provided. There is no charge to the participants, but reservations are required (280-2976) for this event to ensure enough art supplies are available.

Subsequent events are at 2 pm or 6:30 pm. Many are tied to Cummer exhinbits and feature Hope McMath – Executive Director, Holly Keris – Curator, or Susan Gallo – Director of Education. The season ends May 15 with the ever popular Professor Debra Murphy talking about the new museums in Rome.
