This July the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens will offer a drawing class specifically for middle school students.
Instructor Daniel Loughran will lead students in grades 6 through 8 in drawing classes designed to teach basic techniques as well as skillful manipulation of the elements and principles of design. This class is available to all skill levels, from beginning to advanced.
This course is also designed to assist in the development of individual portfolios. It is perfect for students who are serious about pursuing the arts and furthering their arts education, and who may be at a point where they are considering applying for enrollment at an arts high school. In many cases these students are required to submit a portfolio of their recent work for review by the admissions office. The instructor will work with students to assemble a strong body of work appropriate for school applications.
The class is made up of three sessions and is scheduled for July 16th, 23rd, and 30th. Each class is on a Tuesday and runs for two hours from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The cost for the class is $100 museum members and $115 for non-members. Class sizes are limited. Please call 904.355.0630 to reserve your space.
