Put on your red, white and blue, grab a blanket or chair and come celebrate America’s 237th birthday in The Cummer Gardens! Join us to kick off the holiday Wednesday, July 3 from 7 to 9 p.m. for an Independence Day concert featuring the St. Johns River City Band, Satin Swing. For the first time, we have moved this celebratory concert to the evening of July 3rd, in order to alleviate the aggravation of holiday traffic, and allow you to hopefully sleep in the next morning before an enjoyable 4th with your family.
With the St. Johns River as a backdrop and stars above, the sounds of Satin Swing will keep you entertained all evening. Guests are welcome to bring blankets, chairs, food and alcoholic beverages. Food and refreshments will also be available for purchase from the TreeCup Café. After claiming your spot in the Gardens, venture inside the Museum and view the classic cars on display as part of the current exhibition, Future Retro: The Great Age of the American Automobile.
Tickets are $10 for members, $20 for non-members and $400 for a table, which includes reserved seating and a gourmet picnic basket for 10 people. Children 3 and under enjoy free admission.
Our concerts tend to fill to capacity, so come early to stake out your spot. Doors open at 6 p.m., and music begins at 7 p.m. To make your required reservations, please call (904) 899-6004 or visit our website.
Please note – The Cummer will be closed during normal business hours on Thursday, July 4.
