My mission was to represent the world around me. Now I aim to illustrate the world within me. – Mario Peralta
Local fashion photographer, Mario Peralta, will join the Cummer Museum for a Free Tuesday Lecture to discuss the idea of photography as art and in art.
Mario Peralta discovered a love of photography in Yellowstone National Park in 1993, while in the final phase of his Naval training. By the time he finished his training, Peralta had spent so much time studying the different techniques involved in photography that he had mastered his camera just in time for a journey around the world.
While in the Navy, Peralta made it his mission to capture images of the world around him and took as many photographs as he could. After retiring from the Navy in 2004, Peralta decided to go to the University of North Florida where he earned a BFA in photography.
