The Tsars’ Cabinet: Two Hundred Years of Russian Decorative Arts under the Romanovs

Porcelain made by the Imperial Porcelain Factory first reflected the European culture  that the Romanovs were eager to acquire, but beginning in the 18th century,  Russian themes began to appear as pride in a distinctly Russian culture developed.
