New Board Member – John Hirabayashi

John Hirabayashi.jpgJohn Hirabayashi began his first five-year term on the Cummer Board of Trustees on October 1, 2014. Board Chair John Donahoo expressed great enthusiasm and gratitude at the recent board meeting for John’s acceptance of this position of service and all he brings to it.

John Hirabayashi has been the President and CEO of Community First Credit Union of Florida since 1996 and has spent his career in the credit union industry, including six years as President and CEO of Cal State 9 Credit Union in Berkeley, CA. A graduate of the University of Colorado (Boulder) with a bachelor’s degree in Finance, John has an M.B.A. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He is very active in the community and has served on numerous boards, including: Alliance for World Class Education; Florida Credit Union Shared Services; League of Southeastern Credit Unions; the Jacksonville Chamber Board of Governors; Florida Community College Foundation; The Cypress Group; Jacksonville Community Council, Inc.; and WJCT. He and his spouse, Jan, enjoy participating at the Museum.
