RECAP – Sock Hop at The Cummer Museum

Written by Kiani Ned,  Marketing Intern

Sock Hop 189

On Friday, July 12th at 7:30pm The Cummer Museum held its first Sock Hop dance party. Attendees dusted off their poodle skirts, polished their penny loafers, and slicked down their hair for an old school Doo-Wop! In the museum’s auditorium, a DJ spun Doo-Wop classics to get the crowd of their seats and swinging across the dance floor.  The TreeCup Cafe served snacks for the Sock-Hoppers and provided a Cash Bar for the adult Doo-Woppers. The guests were invited to check out the current exhibition, Future Retro: The Great Age of the American Automobile. Some of them looked right at home in their poodle skirts and slicked-back hair  sidled next to the classic cars.
