If you have ever looked at the face on a dime, you probably know that it is Franklin Delano Roosevelt. What you may not know is that Selma Burke (1900 – 1995), a professional sculptor and art educator of the Harlem Renaissance, created the likeness of the former president that inspired the dime’s image.

Firmly nestled in one of Jacksonville’s esteemed boroughs, Springfield, all things are stirring around the house. Springfield is the home of Porchfest, a new mural, and soon two new breweries; it’s redeveloping. The neighborhood feels different, and Anthony Aiuppy, Thony to those who know him best, loves this area.
