Have you made your reservation yet for the Museum’s most glamorous event of the year?
The 2015 Cummer Ball Committee is planning an interactive artistic evening to include live music, dance, and art-making, in the theme of Rothko to Richter: Mark-Making in Abstract Painting from the Collection of Preston H. Haskell, organized by the Princeton University Art Museum.
Witness artist Chip Southworth as he burns his images into wood then layers it with thick strokes of paint to add dimension to his work. Experience an interpretive dance inspired by the Museum’s campus by Jacksonville Dance Theatre. Feed your soul with sounds from Tropic of Cancer and the Ritz Sound and Vocal Performers (RSVP). After dinner, the sassy and sultry sounds of Mama Blue will have you moving your feet in no time in the specially-transformed Terry Gallery. Plus, The Molotov Cocktail Party light dancers will be lighting up the night with a special performance in the Gardens.
Whether it’s live painting, contemporary dance, or music, art comes in many shapes and styles. Make sure you get your ticket to the Cummer Ball and see how each of these artists makes their mark on the world.
