A Cummer signature event, the 2012 VSA Festival will take place May 1 through 4, 2012. The festival provides an opportunity for more than 2,300 students with disabilities and their teachers and chaperones to experience the beauty of original works of art and the creative power of the art-making process. The Festival involves the assistance of more than 1,200 volunteers.
The Festival has been recognized as a national model by VSA Arts International and is the only such event to happen in a museum anywhere in the country. The Festival consists of a series of 8 ArtStops scattered throughout the Museum’s galleries, gardens, studios and Art Connectionsand is designed so that all students, regardless of ability level, can successfully engage in the creative process and interact with artists and musicians.
