What is Art? Set it off: A Collection of Urban Art in Jacksonville

Aug

18

What is urban art?  When and where is artistic expression reasonable and appropriate?  Should Jacksonville take a step forward and encourage more public art?  Join the Up & Cummers the evening of Tuesday, August 23rd, from 6:30-9 pm, for food, drink, and conversation about urban art in Jacksonville.

Joey Marchy will give a history of graffiti and urban art.  We will have a DJ, break dancers, yarn-bombing, and seven local anonymous artists displaying examples of their work.  Food and beverage will be provided by Bluefish Restaurant and Oyster Bar, Intuition Ale Works, Orsay, The Patio at Pastiche, and Riverside Liquors & Village Wine Shop.
