What’s Blooming? Pentas!

Written by Matthew Patterson, Visitor Services Associate

Visitors to the Cummer Gardens are rewarded not only with views of the St. Johns River but also with the flowers that make up the landscape. Pentas are one of these flowers. Existing in shades of red, white, lavender, purple, and pink, Pentas bloom all summer long, even in the hottest of weather. Its deceptively hardy nature makes Florida the ideal climate for such a flower. In addition to being pleasing to our eyes, the Pentas are also a favorite of butterflies and hummingbirds, attracting the former by the dozen. On your next visit take the time to enjoy this addition to the collection.
