Oh to be in Paris in the springtime! Visit a “Café Night” hosted by The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens and the TreeCup Café and you might feel as though you have been transported. On free Tuesday evenings through May 1st, you can stop by the concourse to try out the new Tree Cup Café menu featuring Parisian inspired fare and beverages including beer, wine and bubbly. Between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. you may also enjoy French themed music, hands on interactions, a quick and fun informational message called “The 411”, museum tours, and of course yummy treats to sample and purchase from Tree Cup Café.
Last week, guests sampled items from the new menu, played a trivia game that took a look at the how food has been used in art through the ages and enjoyed a stimulating lecture by Dr. Deborah Murphy from the University of North Florida. This coming week, on Tuesday, March 6, we will sample champagne and strawberries to toast our special guest lecturer, David Brenneman, the Director of Collections and Exhibitions for The High Museum of Art. His lecture will follow Café Nights at 7:00 p.m. in the Hixon Auditorium.
Café Nights are an upbeat, entertaining way to wind down after work and add a little fun to your work week! So grab a date or some friends and head on over to Café Nights at The Cummer. For more specific information about each week’s theme and schedule, click on this “Café Night” link.
