Art Adventures & Art for Two 2014 Schedule

Art for Two

Please join us in 2014, as we kick off a new season of classes.  We have children’s class options with our Art Adventures and Art for Two classes.  For more information or to register for classes, please call 904.355.0630.

Art Adventures Schedule

Ages 6 to 12       

10:30am – 12:00pm

Members $10 per pair, Non-members $15 per pair

January 18 – Cityscape Collographs! Students will view works dealing with cities and urban environments and then return to the studio to create their own cityscape collage which will then be inked and printed.

February 15 – Walmsley Prints! After viewing the work of printmaker William Walmsley, students will create a varied edition of block prints inspired by his work.

March 15 – Botanical Paintings! Students will celebrate Garden Month at The Cummer by creating a watercolor painting based on direct observation of our historic gardens.

April 19 – Family Portraits! Students will visit the One Family:Photographs by Vardi Kahana exhibition to explore the themes of family and resiliency. Students will create their own family portraits based on these ideas.

May 17 – Sculpture Garden! Students will explore the J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver Community Sculpture Garden & Plaza, along with the works of artist Enzo Torcoletti, and will then create abstract sculptures from found objects.

 

 Art for Two Schedule

Ages 3 to 5 and their favorite adult       

10:30am – 12:00pm

Members $15 per pair, Non-members $20 per pair

January 11- City Slicker Cityscapes!  Students will create their own painted cityscape inspired by works from our permanent collection.

February 8 –  Wacky Walmsley!  Students will create bright, colorful monoprints on the printing press inspired by The Prints of William Walmsley exhibition.

March 8– Beautiful Blooms!  In honor of Garden Month, students will explore the Cummer Gardens and create watercolor flowers.

April 12-  My Family and Me!  Students will explore the One Family: Photographs by Vardi Kahana exhibition where they will examine family portraits and then return to the studio to make their own family portrait collage.

May 17 – Fun in 3-D!  Students will explore the J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver Community Sculpture Garden & Plaza, then return to the studio to build their own abstract sculpture.
