Passionate about art?

Looking for a rewarding experience that is significant to the community?

Join the Cummer Museum Docent Corps!

Docent 2Docents are the backbone of the Education Department at the Museum, and provide an invaluable service to the museum and its visitors. Docents are dynamic, dedicated Museum volunteers with diverse backgrounds who lead tours of the permanent collection, Gardens, and temporary exhibitions for school-aged children and adults. Combining important historical information and their tireless enthusiasm for art education docents create a special and enlightening experience for all visitors.

Docent 1

No previous teaching or art history experience is required as Docents will complete training sessions with Museum staff in order to learn both school tours and the history of the permanent collection and Gardens as well as become conversant in teaching methods. Once the training has been completed, docents make a weekly commitment of their time to be an impactful part of the educational experience.

If you are interested in being a member of the Docent Corps, please contact Wendy Stanley at (904) 899-6007.
