We want to hear from YOU! What was your best Museum experience? Has the Museum changed your life in any way? What does The Cummer mean to you? Maybe you are a parent whose child’s life was changed through the experience of art. Perhaps you are a veteran who found healing through the Museum. Maybe you are a teacher who integrates the Museum experience into your curriculum to touch the lives of students.
The American Alliance of Museums (AAM) is looking for compelling stories from museum visitors about how their lives have been touched. We want to hear your stories. We will choose the most powerfully compelling story from our visitors to share with the AAM. From the stories selected by Museums around the country, the AAM will select a Great American Museum Advocate, who will receive an expense-paid trip to participate in Museums Advocacy Day 2014 and help make their case on Capitol Hill.
“People often have transformational experiences in museums, and we are searching for those visitors whose lives have been forever changed by a museum visit,” said Alliance President Ford W. Bell. “We urge you to send us those stories so we can tell the real story of what goes on in museums and share the power of those experiences with our elected leaders.”
