Congratulations to Cummer Amelia, the Museum’s affinity group on Amelia Island, for raising more support for the Museum this year than ever before. From developing new partnerships, to strengthening the connection with local residents, and executing successful events and programs, Cummer Amelia has contributed more than $35,000 to the Museum from their activities and raised more than $53,000 from in-kind support.
This year, Cummer Amelia has engaged its members through a variety of programmatic options, including the following options:
Cummer Amelia’s third annual Garden Walk supported school tours for Nassau County students. The event featured a presentation by Omni Chef Daven Wardynski, and provided art demonstrations, live music, food, and drinks along the tour of private home gardens.
The Cummer Amelia lecture series celebrated the arts and gardens through a sequence of inspiring learning opportunities and provided guests insight into exhibitions and the permanent collection at the Museum.
Cocktails & Canvases was a luxurious weekend in partnership with Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort, where visual arts, signature cocktails, and customized delicacies came together providing guests an immersive experience in an exclusive coastal setting.
Be A Kid For A Day engaged donors to the Cummer Amelia educational outreach fund to experience the Museum in the same way as the third-graders that they sponsored for school tours, featuring a gallery tour, a garden walk, playtime in Art Connections, creations of an art project, and refreshments.
Special thanks to Cummer Amelia committee members for their hard work and dedication, to Becky and Tom Grimes for hosting a successful private event, to Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort for assisting with two major events, and to Cummer Amelia’s president Judy Pillans for her incredible leadership and passion for the Museum.
