What Members Have Experienced in 2011 (so far)…

Apr

01

Membership has its benefits!  Take a look at some of the activities members have had the chance to experience so far this year.  Members receive discounted or free admission to all of our special events, classes, and workshops, as well as discounts in the TreeCup Cafe and The Museum Store.

JANUARY 2011

50 Forward
2011 started off with a bang, as over 700 members joined together with the Cummer Museum to celebrate 50 years of Ninah Cummer’s legacy. The evening was filled with museum-wide art making activities, scavenger hunts, tours, demonstrating artists and live music in our newly renovated galleries.

Guests were given exclusive access to the newly renovated Tudor Room, which features restored paneling, flooring, furnishings, a fireplace, and a selection of art from the Cummers’ home to recreate the domestic sphere in which their collection was originally displayed. Members also viewed The Cummer Legacy, the first ever exhibition that displays, in one gallery, the works of art that comprise the original bequest that formed the core of The Cummer Collection.

FOCUS CUMMER Luncheon

FOCUS CUMMER held a luncheon to welcome new members and hear about The Cummer Legacy exhibition and A Genius for Place: American Landscapes of the Country Place Era.

FEBRUARY 2011

The Albers Trio

The Cummer Concert Series

Members were treated to a concert by the acclaimed Albers Trio, one of our four classical concerts for the season.  Museum members receive free admission to all of the performances in this series.

FOCUS Cummer Tour

Guests experienced a private docent tour of the museum with an inclusive lunch from our TreeCup Cafe. Guests were guided through the permanent collection exhibitions, as well as The Cummer Legacy exhibit and A Genius for Place.
